Groupe Renault unveils “affordable, urban, SUV-inspired” all-electric crossover
French automaker Groupe Renault has introduced an ‘affordable’ new all-electric vehicle --- the Renault K-ZE electric crossover. The new vehicle was unveiled recently by Groupe Renault Chairman and CEO Carlos Ghosn. The unveiling came held ahead of the Paris Motor Show being held this week.
In unveiling the new K-ZE electric crossover, Renault has described the vehicle as “an affordable, urban, SUV-inspired electric model.” However, the automaker has not disclosed any details with regard to the pricing of the vehicle.
According to the information shared by Renault, the K-ZE electric crossover is scheduled for launch in 2019. The company plans to first make the vehicle available in the Chinese market, followed by its release in the European market in 2020.
In terms of specification of the K-ZE electric crossover, the only confirmation which has been made by Renault is that the vehicle will have an NEDC range of 250 km (155 miles).” Hence, the real world range of the vehicle will likely be approximately 190 km (118 miles).
About the new K-ZE electric crossover, Ghosn specifically said that the vehicle combines “the best of Groupe Renault,” and elaborated that it is an amalgamation of Renault’s “leadership in EV, our expertise in affordable vehicles and in forging strong partnerships.”
