Images of VW’s first new production ‘I.D.’ concept EV leaked
In an earlier-this-week report, Germany’s Bild revealed the first picture of German automaker Volkswagen (VW)’s first production version of a new-generation electric vehicle (EV) based on its ‘I.D.’ electric concept. The vehicle will be officially launched by VW in 2019.
VW has plans underway to commence the launch of a series of its new generation ‘I.D.’ concept-based EVs, which will apparently be powered by the automaker’s new MEB platform.
The picture of an ‘I.D.’ concept vehicle which has been leaked by Bild is seemingly the Golf-sized I.D. VIZZION sedan which was unveiled by VW in March 2018. The leaked picture is supposedly the first image of the vehicle’s production version scheduled for unveiling next year.
While sharing the picture of VW’s Golf-sized I.D. VIZZION sedan, the report from Germany has also claimed that the name of the vehicle will be ‘Neo’; and it will have a NEDC-rated range of “400 to 600 km,” in accordance with the configuration of the battery pack.
Meanwhile, other than the leaked Golf-sized I.D. VIZZION sedan, which will probably be VW’s first mass-market EV for the model year 2020, the automaker’s ‘I.D.’ concept vehicle series will also include the crossover all-electric I.D. CROZZ Concept, as well as the I.D. BUZZ electric microbus which will be launched in 2022.
