Nissan launches updated e-NV200 version with extended range and other new features
Japanese automaker Nissan has launched a new version of its e-NV200 electric van featuring an extended range and some other new features.
The e-NV200 electric van’s updated version, equipped with new 40 kWh battery pack for more range, has been launched in Japan and the UK this month; and will also be available in some other markets in the near future.
According to Nissan, the new 40 kWh battery pack of the updated electric van is capable of giving the vehicle a 200-km (124 miles) range between charges, based on the WLTP combined cycle. However, since Nissan has included an active thermal management system in the electric van, its battery pack is different from that of the LEAF.
With the new 40 kWh battery pack apparently making Nissan more confident with regard to battery life, the automaker has extended the warranty on the battery to eight years and 160,000 km. The previous battery’s warranty was five years and 100,000 km.
Other than the new battery pack, the updated version of Nissan’s e-NV200 electric van also comes with an upgraded 6kW onboard charger. In addition, similar to Nissan LEAF, the updated electric van also boasts the inclusion of a bi-directional charging technology, with the help of which the excess energy stored in the battery backup can be returned back to the grid by the operators.
