Tesla officially debuts Model 3 in Australia, displays the vehicle at stores
This week, US electric vehicle maker Tesla Motors officially presented its Model 3 electric car in Australia for the first time, displaying it at a few stores where reservation holders and general public could take a close look at the vehicle.
The Australian debut of the Model 3 was extremely successful on the first day, as it managed to attract large crowds at the stores at which the vehicle was displayed, including Tesla’s stores in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
With the Tesla stores in Sydney and Melbourne particularly witnessing huge crowds of Model 3 reservation holders wanting to look at the vehicle closely, Tesla gave each reservation holder only two minutes of time to see the vehicle up close.
The people’s response to Australian debut of Model 3 was noteworthy, especially since the vehicle is not likely to be delivered in the country for another one year or so. Towards that end, Tesla CEO Elon Musk had, earlier in 2018, projected a “probably” mid-2019 timeline for Tesla’s commencement of the deliveries of right-hand-drive versions of Model 3.
Meanwhile, since the Australian debut of Model 3 coincides with its New Zealand debut as well, the vehicle is also scheduled for its first official display at the Tesla store in Auckland.
